Metro Van Nature began from a deep appreciation for the calming effect nature has on mental wellbeing. After noticing how even small moments outdoors could create clarity and calm, the idea started by curating a deck of cards to encourage getting outdoors. It grew into finding ways to bring those feelings indoors through natural textures, preserved moss, stones, wood, and locally inspired art work and experiences.

The Face Behind Metro Van Nature

Meet Jessi

Born and raised in the Metro Vancouver area, I have always been surrounded by nature. Ever since I can remember, I have always loved being outdoors. As a kid, I would venture off and build forts in the forest. When we would go camping, I would always love exploring everything around me. My family would go on evening walks after dinner along urban trails.

As I got older, doing the adulting thing, I forgot to slow down. Chasing a career and raising a family, it got hard to slow down. I wanted to raise my kids the way I was raised, to enjoy nature. We never had to go far because in Metro Vancouver, we have an abundance of urban nature.

After suffering burnout 2 times in 2 years, I decided to slow down and immerse myself in a place that always felt calm and peaceful, nature. That is how Metro Van Nature became. My goal and my inspiration is to encourage others to absorb nature for their well-being.
